Rifle Training Camp for civilians concludes

“Do not make use of rifles and guns when you are angry or in an inebriated state. It will cause a great damage,” said MLA H P Vishwanath to the participants at the week-long rifle training camp.

Speaking at the valedictory of Rifle Training Camp for civilians organised by the Hunsur unit of Mysuru District Police at Nimishambha Community Hall, MLA Manjunath said that rifle training was imperative for self protection and protection of one’s property.

The Hunsur unit of Mysuru District Police has been conducting such camps every year. Last year, as many as 73 people had participated in the camp while the number has decreased this year to 53.

MLA Manjunath further advised the participants to maintain a healthy lifestyle and exercise on daily basis. “The only way to be fit and healthy is to eat healthy food and exercise a lot. People are facing immense problem with sedentary lifestyle and their health is at stake,” he said.

Circle Inspector, Mysuru, H P Satish Kumar reminded the participants of the consequences one would face for misusing the rifles.

“It’s good that you are getting trained in rifle shooting. At the same time, you should also keep in mind the dos and don’ts as to make the correct usage of the weapon,” he said.

On the occasion, participants who have done good in training were felicitated. Sandeep Kumar of Yallakki Katti Village got the first prize while M Girish of Baratawadi Village and Praveen of Ganesh Gudi road received second and third prizes.

ZP member Subhash, Sanjit Kumar, CPI Dharmendra, PSIs Lava Kumar, Puttaswami and Shanmukha were present.
