RMSD girl does her school proud in Karnataka SSLC exams

Mysuru, August 11:- Any kind of handicap should not come in the way of someone to achieve things life. Fighting against the odds, this visually impaired girl has proved nothing is impossible if there is a strong will. Hailing from Arasu Kallahalli in Hunsur taluk, Nandini’s performance in SSLC examinations is commendable. A picture of 3 Ds – determination, devotion and discipline, Nandini scored 92% and is her school’s topper.

Daughter of Prakash and Bhagya, Nandini is visually impaired by birth. After studying till Class 3 in her village, she joined Rangarao Memorial  School for Disabled at Metagalli in Mysuru to pursue her studies. Learning the trade through Brail education, Nandini has done her school proud by notching up 92.16 per cent. The youngster owes it all to her parents and teachers who stood by her like a rock. Despite their daughter’s handicap, parents took it as a challenge to guide her.

Father Prakash is elated at his daughter’s performance. He said, “I am basically from the farming community. Though my daughter is visually impaired, her school encouraged her and the result is showing.”

Nandini has set an example for other youngsters to follow. (MR/KS)
