Teachers-cum-Engineers Day celebrated at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering in Mysuru

Prime News, National, Karnataka, Education, Engineering and Technology, Mysuru, September 16:- The role of teachers has changed massively with the introduction of digital media especially during Covid-19 time, said V Eshwara Rao, Vice President, JK Tyre and Industries.

Speaking on the occasion of Teachers-cum-Engineers Day celebration organised by Vidyavardhaka College of
Engineering at its Sports Complex at Gokulam 3rd Stage here on Wednesday (September 15), he said “Earlier the teacher’s role used to be simple, they were imparting knowledge and conducting exams to check our ability to understand, but nowadays a lot of changes have happened. Even if a person is sitting in front of a computer, and with the press of a button all the knowledge is available.

“These days teachers face lots of challenges. As a teacher, professor and lecturer, they need to mould the young generation in the right direction to become responsible citizens. Teachers play an important role in a student’s life, as a teacher one must bring out the best in students and inspire them, but with the existing pandemic is it possible, it’s really a great challenge,” he added.

Speaking about the Engineers Day, he pointed out the immense contribution of Sir M Visveswaraya as an engineer and in the educational field and called upon the youth to come out with new inventions for the benefit of all in the society.

Rao felicitated 13 PhD awardees (2020-2021) and 3 research supervisors apart from presenting the best teacher and researcher award. Vidyavardhaka Sangha also honoured Eshwara Rao on the occasion.
