Breaking News, State (Bengaluru) July 17:- Senior police officer of the state D Roopa who recently exposed the irregularities in the Bengaluru jail has been transferred to the traffic department.
Roopa who was serving as the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Prisons, Bengaluru had recently submitted a report to the Karnataka government last week and had alleged that V K Sasikala, the chief of Tamil Nadu’s ruling AIADMK, is enjoying VIP facilities in prison.
She also reported that there is speculation in the jail that Sasikala had paid Rs 2 crore for privileges and DGP H N Satyanarayana Rao could have been a beneficiary of this. She had also exposed several lapses in the prison’s administration. However, the allegations were denied by Rao and jail officials.
Following widespread of news across various media, the state government had served a notice to Roopa for going to the media over her controversial report.
Now, the State government in his notification date 17/07/2017 has transferred five IPS officers that includes Roopa. She is now transferred as the Deputy inspector general of Police and Commissioner for traffic and road Safety, Bengaluru with immediate effect.
