Round Table India, Ladies Circle India celebrate Independence Day

Round Table India (RTI) and Ladies Circle India (LCI), Mysuru chapters, held Freedom Drive and flag hoisting events on the occasion of India’s 70th Independence Day.

The objective of the freedom drive was to spread awareness about its mission of ‘Freedom through education.’  Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar kick started the freedom drive and concluded with hoisting flags at three partner government schools of Mysuru by the members of RTI.

Yaduveer Wadiyar said “Education is paramount for the development of the nation. It helps to provide growth opportunities for children. I am happy that RTI and LCI are taking this initiative to spread awareness about their cause of ‘Freedom through Education,” he added.

Kiran V Ranga, chairman of one of the Mysore chapters said “Education has the power to transform young minds. Round Table India and Ladies Circle India is glad to be a catalyst in bringing about a change in the lives of underprivileged children. We build classrooms, toilet blocks and libraries in government schools to help provide better learning and hygiene facilities for children.”

“RTI and its counterpart LCI have eight chapters in Mysore. We have constructed around 120 classrooms and eight toilet blocks in Government schools in Mysore district. Round Table India undertakes a range of social and community related initiatives through its philosophy of ‘fellowship through service,’’ he added.
