RPF SI dies after falling from moving train

In a tragic incident, Prabhu Jyothi (36), Sub Inspector of Railway Police Force (RPF), died after accidentally coming under a moving train at Mandya railway station, on Sunday evening.

Tirupathi Fast Passenger Train from Mysuru to Tirupathi had arrived at the Mandya railway station at 6:15 pm. The train was jam-packed when Prabhu Jyothi, who was on duty, entered the train along with the RPF staff for inspection. After the inspection, while getting down from the train, train had already started to move slowly. The RPF staff got off the train and Prabhu Jyothi slipped and fell on the railway track.

He suffered severe head injuries as the train moved over him. The Railway police rushed him to the MIMS hospital in the city but he breathed his last on the way to hospital. A case has been registered at railway police station.
