MLA Sa Ra Mahesh accused of insulting Kurubas

Mysuru, May 31:- “MLA Sa Ra Mahesh has been saying that a particular community didn’t vote for him due to caste politics. He has said this to media and has indirectly insulted the Kuruba community. If he doesn’t stop this attitude, he will have to pay for it,” said Taluk Kuruba Association president J Shivanna at a press meet held at K R Nagar Congress office on Wednesday.

“If he blames the community for not voting him, why has he got Kurubas with him? Why did he bring MLA AH Vishwanath to villages where Kurubas are more in numbers? If he criticises Kuruba community,  let him do politics keeping our community away from the Janata Dal (Secular). After being elected as an MLA, he accused the officials from backward communities of not supporting him during elections. He didn’t allow Sridhar of Uppara community to take charge at water board and made Chandrashekhar from his community to take charge. Is it not casteism?” Shivanna questioned.

“Though JD(S) has Chief Minister’s post in the coalition government, Sa Ra Mahesh should understand that Congress has the maximum share in the government. If he troubles Kuruba community and Congress workers, we will stage a protest. Mahesh’s brother, Zilla Panchayat member Sa Ra Nandish has insulted the voters by saying D Ravishankar received 40,000 Kuruba votes and 43,000 paid votes. If he has proof for what he has told, let him submit it,” he added.
