Tanveer Sait deserves to be ousted: Ex-MLA

Former MLA of NR Constituency Maruti Rao Pawar urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to drop Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait from the cabinet for allegedly watching explicit videos during Tipu Jayanti at Raichur on Thursday. “He has shamed all of us by doing so,” said Pawar.

Addressing press persons here on Friday, Pawar said, “Being a responsible minister, he should not have done this. He says he has not gone home for over three months. What does he mean by that and what are the ethos he possesses? If such people become education ministers, what messages do students get?” Pawar asked.

“Sait is unfit to continue as the education minister and he is better to be a producer for adult films. He forgot even the stage manners and watched the explicit videos. He did not become an MLA and a minister because of his ability, but because of his family legacy,” he added.

Pawar further said that the BJP will stage a protest at the Gandhi Square every day till Sait resigns. “No thief says that he stole and so is Sait. The government should get his resignation on moral grounds.”

Calling Sait as an irresponsible person, Pawar said the minister had not distributed the Ashraya houses to the poor. “Can we expect women to go to Sait to get their problems solved?”

BJP slum morcha president Madhu Mahadevaprasad, vice president Basavaraju, Krishnamurthy, Anand and Arjun were present on the occasion.
