Mysuru, May 17:- Defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Narasimharaja Constituency, Sandesh Swamy has alleged that Congress candidate Tanveer Sait won the Assembly elections with 30-40,000 bogus voters. He urged the Election Commission to withhold the result and cancel his victory.
“There were 2,03,314 voters in 2008 elections, 2,11,514 in 2013 elections. There are 2,61,402 voters in 2018 elections. More than 50,000 voters were added in just three months. It proves there were malpractices in the elections,” he alleged at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club here on Thursday.
“There was an anti-incumbency wave in the constituency against Sait and it was not possible for him to win. The competition was between BJP and SDPI. But the victory of Sait proves electoral malpractices. A detailed investigation should be held,” he urged.
“I have requested the EC to announce me as the winner. Or else I will take up legal fight,” he said.
