‘Sanchalana’ children’s theatre festival from tomorrow

Mysuru, January 4:- Sanchalana is organising children’s theatre festival from January 5 to 9.

“Senior theatre director Chidambara Rao Jambe will inaugurate the event at Kiru Rangamandira of Kalamandir at 6:30 pm on January 5. MLA G T Devegowda, Mallikarjun Maliger of Karnataka Balavikasa Academy, DDPI Manjula and Prasad Kundhur will attend the event,” said Deepak Mysuru of Sanchalana at a press meet on Wednesday.

“MLA Vasu, chairman of Mysuru Paints and Varnish H A Venkatesh, BEO K S Prakash, deputy director of Kannada and Culture department H Chennappa, MM Suguna of Nirantara Foundation will also be part of the event,” he added.

“Students of Daisy Convent will stage Madhyama Vyayoga play by poet Bhasa, directed by Deepak. Students of Kukkarahalli Government High School will stage Punyakoti play directed by V Yogesh, and Hakkigala Jeevabhava play written by Malali Vasantha Kumar directed by H S Kavita,” he added.

“Shreya Mahesh, Bengaluru, will perform Bharatanatyam on January 7. Students of Yakshagana Academy, Bengaluru, will perform Srikrishna Parijatha Yakshagana,” he added.

“On January 8, students of Chamarajanagar Deenabandhu School will stage Hakki habba play directed by NS Prajna, Kukkarahalli Government High School students will perform Billa Habba play directed by S Sheela. Students of Natana school will perform Dham Dhoom Suntaragali play inspired by Shakespeare’s play, ‘The Tempest’,” Deepak added.
