Mysuru, May 29:- After much delay following the enforcement of Poll Code of Conduct during the Karnataka Assembly elections, Sarod maestro Pandit Rajeev Taranath was conferred with Nadoja award at his residence in the city on Tuesday.

In March, the Kannada University Hampi had announced that the university will confer the prestigious ‘Nadoja’ title on Sarod maestro Rajeev Taranath, in recognition of his contribution to the field of classical music. It was also announced that Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala will be awarding the degree at the 26th Nudi Habba.

However, following the enforcement of the election code of conduct the award ceremony was postponed. On Tuesday, Hampi Kannada University Vice Chancellor Dr Mallika S Ghanti conferred the ‘Nadoja’ award to Rajiv Taranath at his residence in Saraswathipuram here.
