Sarvajananga Hitharakshana Vedike questions govt move on IAS officer B Sharath

Mysuru, September 30:- Condemning the sudden transfer of IAS officer B Sharath from Mysuru, Sarvajananga Hitharakshana Vedike’s state president Venugopal on Wednesday (September 30) said there was no reason why he was given transfer orders within a month of taking charge as Mysuru Deputy Commissioner. The move is totally biased and it needs to be criticised.”

He said, “Sharath is a Kannadiga and an able administrator who knows a lot about Mysuru and Mandya districts. He worked as Mandya Zilla Panchayat CEO and later, as the Deputy Commissioner of Raichur and Kalaburgi. He has been praised for his good works there. Mysuru stands second to Bengaluru as far as the coronavirus cases are concerned. Every government department is not performing its duty with utmost efficiency. When the Mysuru Dasara festival programmes were being planned, the government decided to transfer Sharath for no valid reason. To transfer of an IAS officer who is from the Dalit community is unscientific.”

He continued, “The Yediyurappa government, in the interest of the people of Mysuru district, should cancel Sharath’s transfer order and retain him. If the chief minister fails to do so, we may be forced to intensify our protest.”

SHV’s vice-president Shivananjaiah, secretary M Mahadev, spokesman Akram Pasha and women’s wing secretary B T Rajamma were present. (MR/KS)
