SBRR Mahajana College celebrates Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birth anniversary

 SBRR Mahajana First Grade College celebrates the 109th birth anniversary of Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram at its college premises.
Speaking about Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion, HoD of Department of History Dr Sridhar H R said he heralded the Green Revolution in India.

He not only served as the deputy prime minister but was a great leader and an efficient administrator. Moreover, he was a social worker and a freedom fighter. He played a key role in the fight against untouchability. An active Congressman, Babu Jagjivan Ram was the Labour Minister in the Nehru cabinet. He also held the portfolios of defence and agriculture ministry and from 1977 and 79 during the reign of Morarji Desai he served as the deputy prime minister, said Dr Sridhar.
He added that Babu Jagjivan Ram served all these role efficiently.
Principal Prof K V Prabhakar, staff and students took part in the celebrations.
