Mysuru, June 15:- “The Regional Transport Authority has launched a drive in the state to inspect all the buses and vans of schools and colleges used in transporting children and students as per the orders of the Supreme Court,” said Joint Transport Commissioner Dr C T Murthy.
He was speaking at the inspection drive of school and college buses and vans organised by the RTOs at Maharaja College Grounds here on Friday.
“We are conducting the inspection of both the RTOs (West and East) of Mysuru. We are making sure that all the vehicles of schools and colleges are in good condition. If we inspect the vehicles on road, it would trouble the students and the public. That’s why we have asked all the school and college vehicles to assemble at Maharaja College for the inspection drive. We will inspect around 300 vehicles today. We are inspecting the vehicle insurance, driving license of drivers, pollution certificate, first aid box, and the maintenance of the vehicles,” he said.
RTO Prabhuswamy and others were present. (GK, NGB)
