School razed to ground: DPI officials file case against management

Officials from the Department of Public Instruction have filed a case against the demolition of Adarsha Primary and High School, which is a government aided school at Manjunatha Layout. Following which the Police have arrested Shankar owner of the site for further enquiry.


Meanwhile DDPI H R Basappa, Block Education Officer B K Shivanna and others inspected the spot.


Speaking to reporters he said that a case of Adarsha education management was still pending at the High Court of Karnataka. The management of Adarsha education institution has demolished the building without bringing it to the notice of the Department of Public Instruction.


“Thus we filed a case at the police station. While a case is still pending at the High Court of Karnaraka, the original status of the building should be maintained. We will take strict action against the management for illegally bringing down the building,” the DDPI said.


Further he clarified that a decision would be taken keeping in view the future of 260 students and 15 teachers.
