School children not to be part of I-D: DDPI Urs

Mysuru, August 13:- The 75th Independence Day will be celebrated on Sunday (August 15) in the district. But with the pandemic situation, like last year, the participation of school children has been banned.

Talking to reporters, Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI), Ramachandra Raje Urs said, “All the schools in the district have been advised to follow the protocol as per the guidelines. The function should be over by 9 am. Only teachers associate teachers and the staff are allowed to take part in the function. But for the flag-hoisting programme, no other cultural activity should be allowed.”

He said, “Preparations are already on for the function. As per the government guidelines, all schools have been issued guidelines that they are supposed to follow on August 15. Teachers, associate teachers and the staff can only take part in the programme. Public representatives, if any, are allowed to participate in the function but will have to adhere to the guidelines.” (MR/GK)
