“Evolution of science and technology has affected the prudence of every individual,” said noted writer C P Krishnakumar.
He was speaking at the 61st Kannada Rajyotsava programme organised by Kannada Readers Union at Dhvanyaloka in the city on Tuesday. He said: “With the evolution of science and technology and introduction of various gadgets have affected the growth of a language. Today, linguistic experts list Kannada in the list of deathbed languages. Kannada has all the powers of rising like a phoenix bird, we shouldn’t allow English language to rule us but limit it just to gain knowledge and for business. Kannada must be made compulsory first language from the primary level and make it as medium of instructions in schools.”
On the occasion, noted senior personality and Rajyotsava awardee Rameshwari Verma was felicitated.
Members of the association Padmavathi, Nagarathna and others were present.
