Science-drama competition held at Yalandur

“Students should develop analytical thinking along with studies. It will help them to become good citizens,” said Theoder Luther, Principal of Y M Mallikarjunaswamy First Grade College, Yalandur.

He was speaking after inaugurating science-drama competition held at the Government PU College, organised by District Education Training Institution and Public Education department.

“It helps to develop scientific mindset among the children. Such unique efforts are required in today’s education system. Drama teaches multiple art forms including analysing the issue, acting, music and other things at a time. The theme science and society is very apt in today’s society,” he said.

“In this competition, Swachh Bharat – healthy Bharat, food security and nutrition, Digital India, green power and other topics are given. Scientific issue in the drama gets 30 points, performance gets 50 and effectiveness of the drama gets 20 points. The top three performances will be selected for the next round. The competition will be conducted at district, state, south Indian states and national level,” said block officer of Diet, N Nagaraju.

Headmaster of Adarsha school Gurumurthy, judges Shivashankar, Siddesh and others were present.
