SDMIMD’s bid to make a difference to society

The students of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) as a part of their Socially Relevant Project every year identifies  some of the charitable trusts, organisations and NGO’s of Mysore and extends its support to meet the needs of these organisations.

Vinay, a PGDM student of SDMIMD said “Awareness about the problems in the society makes us more humble and wise. It also motivates us to become innovative and start thinking towards finding a feasible solution to rehabilitate such sections of the society”. Working towards this principle the students extended monetary support to Nireekshe (Day care and Activity Centre for Special Children) and MDPAEDD (Mysore District Parents Association for Empowering Developmentally Disabled). The monetary support was for meeting the needs of learning materials for special children. The Chairman, Neerekshe received a cheque of Rs.20,000 from the student community and the Secretary of MDPAEDD, Mr. Nagaraj was handed over a cheque for Rs.25,000.

1200 notebooks were provided to Government Body Guard Lane School children from Class I to Class VII. Shakthidhama, (a rehabilitation and development centre for destitute and estranged women) was given encouragement to and provided with plastic chairs for their dining hall.

The Manager – Administration of SDMIMD, C V Sridhar joined the student community in this outreach programme. Student community of SDMIMD was represented by Vinay Prabhakar, Amruta K R, Surbee Mishra, Harshith Gowda.
