“Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) will stage a hunger strike in front of the DC office against the government,” said its state president, Prof Devanuru Putta Nanjaiah. He was addressing press recently.
SDPI members will demand implementation of Rajendra Sachar recommendation and to fulfil the demands of the minorities.
“Dalits and minorities were denied education in the pre-independence era. Even today, they are not given importance in education, economy and government jobs. The scholarships of the minority students have also been cut down. Minorities are considered as a vote bank by all the political parties. Government should provide Rs 10,000 crore for the development of the minorities in the budget,” he urged.
Haluru Mallanna, M F Khalim, Tabar Ji Sait, Mohammad Safivulla were present in the press meet.
