Second grade assistant caught taking bribe

Mysuru, June 2:- A second grade assistant of the Social Welfare Department was caught red-handed by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Police while taking bribe. The assistant has been identified as Shivanna.

He had demanded a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh from the warden of Ravanduru Hostel in Periyapattana, H Rajaiah to stop joint director of Social welfare Department Muniraju from inspecting the hostel. He had taken an advance of Rs 50,000 from Rajaiah. Later Rajaiah filed a complaint to ACB against Muniraju and Shivanna. The ACB Police arrested Shivanna red-handed at Paduvarahalli Circle while taking the bribe of Rs 1 lakh.

The operation was guided by ACB SP Rashmi and undertaken by DSP Parashuram, Inspector Niranjan and team. (MR/KS)
