Mysuru, May 15:- “The counting of votes for Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha Constituency will be held at Maharani’s College of Commerce and Management for Women on Valmiki Road junction here on May 23. For the smooth counting of votes, Section 144 will be implemented in the city from 6 am to 12 am on May 23 and 24, according to election code of conduct,” said Commissioner of Police K T Balakrishna here on Wednesday.
“Section 144 will be in force for proper counting of votes without any illegal and unwanted activities at the counting centre. The section will be implemented within the city commissioner’s jurisdiction. The entry of unauthorised persons into counting centre, people assembling in groups of more than 5 within 200 metres of the centre, meetings, conventions, celebratory processions of winners, fireworks in front of houses, carrying explosives and weapons have been strictly prohibited. Any form of procession, sound system and bike rally are not permitted. Action will be taken against those who violate the law,” he added. (MR/SH)
