Mysuru, April 20:- Seer Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji of Avadhoota Datta Peetha of the city on Monday handed over ration and groceries worth Rs 18 lakh to the district administration and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC). The nation is under lockdown to contain spread of coronavirus.
The MCC Commissioner Gurudutta Hegde had requested the public to donate ration and groceries to be distributed to the needy people. The seer responded to the request with 30,000 kg of rice, 3,000 kg dal, 3,000 litres of cooking oil. He had already donated Rs 15 lakh to distribute food to the needy people in the city.
The branches of the mutt in Bengaluru, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are also distributing food to 8,000 people every day.
