Mysuru, July 27:- “The demand for separate north Karnataka state is not right. Separating north Karnataka from Karnataka will not solve any of the problems,” said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha member Shobha Karandlaje here on Friday.
She visited Chamundi Hills on the occasion of 2nd Ashada Friday by foot and offered special prayers to the Goddess Chamundeshwari.
“To get justice for Karnataka in water disputes like Krishna, Mahadayi and Cauvery Rivers, the people of Karnataka should remain united. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have become weak after they got separated. BJP will be with the people of north Karnataka. But calling for a bandh for a separate state is not right,” she said while speaking to media persons atop the hill.
“Chief Minister is like a king in democracy. The state government has not started functioning properly. Unfortunately, the Chief Minister of Karnataka has limited himself only to 3-4 districts. It has made people of north Karnataka protest for a separate state,” she alleged.
BJP city president Dr B H Manjunath, Chamaraja Constituency MLA L Nagendra and others were present. (MR/KS).
