NR Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the NR Group, makers of Cycle Pure Agarbathies, conducted an array of activities for the betterment of the society under project Prerepana.
NR Foundation entered into the next phase of ‘Project Prerepana (Phase II) to promote sustainable development of seven slums in Mysuru through its focus on health, education, and socio-economic empowerment of youth and women.
NR Foundation had earlier supported the Phase 1 of this project which lasted for 5 years from 2006 to 2011 implementing partners being Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM). Now in its second phase, a series of events were organized under the project Prerepana for the welfare of the society. On the Global Hand Wash Day, an event was carried out, explaining the importance of washing hands and the six steps of hand wash to the students and faculty in government schools of seven slums in Mysuru.
As part of the project Prerepana, programmes were conducted that focused on the legal awareness program in collaboration with District Legal Service Authority of Mysuru where NR Foundation conducted a door to door campaign and provided legal education to hundreds of people in four slums. Later Antenatal Care, Postnatal Care and health check-up campaign was conducted in collaboration with FPAI (Family planning association of India) Mysore in Bharath Nagar, Mysuru. The doctors of Ramakrishna Hospital provided information about ANC and PNC, ANC register in PHC, regular check-up in hospital, nutritional food, TT injection, high risk pregnancy, safe institutional delivery at hospital, importance of breastfeeding, importance of 6 type of immunization, Spacing methods and regular check-ups along with medications.
Speaking about the initiatives, R Guru, Chairman of NR Group, said, “NR Group believes that service to the community is an integral part of its business activities. We are glad that we received this opportunity to contribute towards a better tomorrow for the society. Our initiatives were designed keeping in mind the need of the society. We hope they will take the learning ahead, and inculcate the same, in their lives.”
