“Karnataka is having a tough tie due to Cauvery row. But Kannadigas are strong enough to face any situation. We never back down at any situation. We never discriminated people on the basis of region. We believe in being together,” said renowned actor Dr Shiva Rajkumar.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Yuva Dasara programme held at Maharaja’s College grounds. His mere entry on stage electrified the youth gathered for the inaugural evening of the much awaited youth festival.
“It is an honour for me to be here to inaugurate the Yuva Dasara. I share an emotional bond with this city. I paid a visit to Chamundi hills and prayed the Goddess to bestow sufficient rains for the state,” he said.
“Kannada film industry has seen young talents coming in and perform. Youths should get into politics and reform the structure of it and they should work for better society,” he opined.
Later he sang ‘Tuvvi tuvvi endu haduva’, ‘beduvenu varavannu’, ‘huttidare Kannada nadal huttabeku’ and other songs and danced for the music to entertain his fans gathered in thousands.
The inaugural session was followed by cultural programmes from the college teams selected based on their performance at Yuva Sambhrama which gave a rousing start to the cultural evening.
What followed by was the mesmerising, energised Benny Dayal’s concert. The well known playback singer made Mysuru to stay on its feet with his singing. He sang continuously for 90 minutes and enthralled the audience gathered. He also expressed his love for Mysuru.
