Shops to be given to merchants at Chamundi Hills soon: Minister V Somanna

Mysuru, December 24:- “Guddali puja have been done for the construction of shops at Chamundi Hills. The shops will be distributed to the merchants soon,” said District in-charge Minister V Somanna.

The minister who is on Mysuru tour was speaking to media after visiting Chamundi Hills. He said that the work will be completed in 2 months and said the shops will be distributed to the beneficiaries.

“There have been irregularities in the distribution of houses in the housing scheme. We have taken back 7 lakh houses already. Many beneficiaries had not received houses. We are verifying the houses distributed by the previous government and our government. Many houses are not constructed completely. MLAs should verify the houses and beneficiaries. They can’t grant houses to anyone as they did earlier. 7,000 beneficiaries are illegally in the distribution list. It is brought to our notice and we have cancelled the list,” he added.

Responding to rope way to Chamundi Hills, he said discussions are being held regarding the rope way construction to the hills. He said that the government would take a decision based on opinions and reports regarding it.

Speaking about the health condition of Pejawar Mutt seer, the minister said that the seer is responding to the treatment and said he would pray to God for his speedy recovery. (MR/KS)
