Siddaganga seer critical, on ventilator support: Doctors

Prime News, State, (Tumakuru), January 21:- Shivakumara Swamiji, the main pontiff of Siddaganga mutt, is critical his doctors said on Monday.

Dr Parameshwar, the doctor who is treating the swamiji, told media here, “We noted variations in health parameters of the seer last night. He is on ventilator support and critical condition. We will give a further update in an hour.

The seer is considered to be one of most esteemed religious and social practitioners of the Lingayat-Veerashiva faith of Lingayatism.

The 111-year see is being treated for a lung infection which he developed after an operation on December 8, which was carried out to treat his liver and bile duct infection.

Owing to seer’s health condition, former CM and BJP state chief BS Yeddyurappa cancelled his engagements and rushed to Tumakuru.

Security arrangements have been made outside the Siddaganga mutt, where 111-year old seer is currently being treated. The Police has set-up control room inside the mutt to oversee the security arrangements.

As per latest media reports, police has restricted public entry to mutt in anticipation of large crowd.

Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy holding emergency meeting  today at mutt premises in view of seer’s critical condition in which Deputy CM G Parameshwra, DGP Neelamani Raju, former CM BS Yeddyurappa, junior seer of Siddaganga mutt, Home Minister MB Patil , IGP Dayanand expected to take stock of the situation.
