Siddaramaiah and Marigowda partners in crime: HDK

State President of Janata Dal (Secular) H D Kumaraswamy has demanded the immediate arrest of K Marigowda, the close confidante of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Marigowda and his henchmen have been accused of intimidating Deputy Commissioner C Shikha in Mysuru recently.

“Marigowda has not been arrested because he is Siddaramaiah’s right hand and looks after all illegal land transactions in and around Mysuru. The Chief Minister is directly exerting pressure on the police and home department not to arrest Marigowda,” he alleged.

“When a person like Marigowda abused and intimidated Deputy Commissioner Shikha, the highest officer in the district, any government would have come to her rescue and would have fought for justice. But here, the Siddaramaiah government is protecting a person who is accused of land grabbing just because he is his close friend,” he said.

The CM has managed to pressurise the police and the CID to withdraw more than 8 cases of rioting filed against him and Marigowda though they were accused number 1 and 2. “These cases have not been mentioned in the election affidavit filed by Siddaramaiah and thereby he has hid the information from the public,” he said.

“Marigowda and Siddaramaiah are partners in many crimes and both have been able to stay away from the long legal arms. By using power and clout, they have successfully managed to twist facts and escape punishment,” he alleged. On the DySP M K Ganapathi suicide, Kumaraswamy said that the government is bound to hush up the case and a CID probe was ordered precisely for this reason.

“Ganapathi was murdered by the administration and sadly, a prompt officer has lost his life,” he said.MLAs G T Devegowda, Sa Ra Mahesh, MLC Srikantegowda former mayor R Lingappa, Mysuru City JD(S) President Rajanna and others were present.
