Siddaramaiah doesn’t know what he is talking about these days: Minister ST Somashekar

Prime News, Karnataka, Politics, Mysuru, October 1:- Taking a jibe at senior Congress leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah for his ‘Taliban’ remarks, District In-charge Minister S T Somashekar said on Friday (October 1) that the veteran leader has lost his senses since he got infected with the coronavirus. “It seems he does not know what he is talking about. He does not even know the difference between BJP and the Taliban. He only talks for the sake of talking.”

The minister said, “If Siddaramaiah has to know something about Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), he has to join one of its branches. If he wants, I can take him to any branch to educate him on RSS. Maybe Covid has affected his brain for he does not know what he is talking about. I think he has some psychological issues.”

Turning his attention to Mysuru Dasara preparations, Somashekar said, “We are almost done with the works. I have a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Dr Bagadi Gautham. I also have a meeting with Power Minister V Sunil Kumar to discuss lighting arrangements.”

On Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai visiting Chamarajanagar district, the minister said, “He is definitely coming on October 6.  President Ram Nath Kovind will be arriving in Mysuru at 11.15 am on October 6 and from there, he will be going to Biligiri Rangana Betta. From there, he will be going to Chamarajanagar and return to Mysuru at 4.30 pm. From the airport, he will be going to Sringeri. Bommai will be present during the inauguration of a hospital at Chamarajanagar between 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm.”

Somashekar said, “On the usual payment made to the Mysuru royal family during Dasara, it will be around Rs 6 crore as released by the Chief Minister. However, it will be decided in the next couple of days.” (MR/KS)
