In the 45 years of journey in politics, I wanted to retire with self respect but Chief Minister Siddaramaiah caused me unforgettable and deep pain, blamed former minister and dalit leader V Srinivasa Prasad.
Addressing a press meet here in the city on Tuesday, he said, “I was not upset with the decision of dropping me from the minister’s post. I had told the Congress leaders and CM that I would not contest elections and remain in active politics to utilise my vast experience for the Congress. But the decision of Siddaramaiah made serious damage to my self-respect which hurt me a lot. The decision to contest the by-election was taken following this. I was removed from the cabinet as a result of a political conspiracy and this election is the time to prove those involved in this conspiracy.”
“I will be joining BJP on January 2 in Bengaluru. The true face of Siddaramaiah will be exposed during the election campaign,” he added.
“Siddaramaiah calls himself Ahinda, a secular, but he needs to introspect himself that why did he change his car after a crow sat on it? He needs to answer what made him to wear an expensive watch being an Ahinda?” Prasad questioned.
Basavegowda to join BJP
Senior Congress leader C Basavegowda was also spotted along with Prasad during the press meet which hints that may also join BJP along with a few other followers of Prasad. Former MUDA Chairman K R Mohan Kumar and others were present at the press meet.
