Silent protest held condemning Centre’s divide and rule policy

Mysuru, March 3:- Samvidhana Rakshana Samithi staged a silent protest in the city on Tuesday, alleging the central government is trying to create differences between Hindus and Muslims by trying to portray those who are against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as anti-nationals. The protesters held a silent march from Freedom Fighters Park on Chamaraja Double Road to Gandhi Square and distributed pamphlets.

They said that the people are fed up of increasing unemployment, price hike and financial crunch and alleged the central government is trying to deviate the minds of people from the actual problems.

They said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders are justifying MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal who called freedom fighter HS Doreswamy as a “fake freedom fighter and a Pakistani agent.” They urged Yatnal to apologise for his statement.

Pa Mallesh, Basavaraj, Hosakote Basavaraj, Abhiruchi Ganesh and others were present. (MR/KS)
