MP Simha, Minister Somashekar are working hard: BJP spokesman MG Mahesh

CM BS Yediyurappa, BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje and MLA SA Ramadass played key role in establishment of Jayadeva Hospital in Mysuru, claims Mahesh

Mysuru, May 18:- Bharatiya Janata Party state spokesman M G Mahesh has lashed out at Congress spokesman M Lakshman’s derogatory statements against BJP leaders.

Speaking to reporters at the BJP office at Chamarajapuram here on Tuesday (May 18), he said, “Member of Parliament Pratap Simha and District In-charge Minister S T Somashekar have been working very hard to help the district administration to fight the pandemic. Despite being unwell, Simha has been visiting hospitals to oversee the preparations for facilities. What right has Lakshman got to talk against Simha?. Congress leaders D K Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah are staying in Bengaluru and are not bothered to visit their constituencies. Instead of giving suggestions to the government, they are busy criticising the government.”

Mahesh said, “Somashekar has formed a task force and each member has been given certain responsibilities and all of them are doing their best. Lakshman, who has been rejected by people time and again, is only giving irresponsible statements.”

The BJP spokesman said, “If Jayadeva Hospital has come to Mysuru, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje are responsible and MLA S A Ramadass, who was medical education minister then, also contributed immensely. Though Siddaramaiah’s contribution is nil, Simha has praised his contribution. Tulasidas Hospital has been upgraded under Rashtriya Arogya Mission and the expenses came to Rs 20 crore.”

The BJP leader said, “When Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Mysuru in 2018, he released Rs 8,000 crore for the 10-lane National Highway between Mysuru and Bengaluru. When the BJP leaders are fighting for the state, Congress leaders are busy trying to downgrade them. If Lakshman has got the guts, let him contest against Simha in the next election.”

BJP general secretary Somasundar, Mysuru city spokesman M A Mohan, vice president Jaishankar H S, joint spokesman S S Mahesh, Yuva Morcha president Kiran Gowda and others were present. (MR/KS)
