Mysuru, May 14:- With the fasting month coming to an end on Thursday (May 13), the Muslims celebrated Ramzan (Ramadan) festival here on Friday (May 14).
In view of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, they offered prayers at their homes. Usually, they would visit Eidgah grounds, mosques, dargahs and houses to greet their relatives and friends, but given the pandemic situation, the festival turned out to be simple this year like last year.
The entire Muslim community had been advised to keep the festival as simple as possible in view of the prevailing situation in the country. All the Muslims prayed to Allah to help mankind overcome the tough situation.
All the masjids and dargahs have been asked to remain shut and as such, all Muslims prayed from within the four walls of their homes. They also ensured all the Covid guidelines were in place. The usual buzz that goes with Ramzan was conspicuously absent. The busy shopping that marks Ramzan was also missing as most shops remained shut. (MR/KS)
