Sir CV Raman’s birth anniversary observed in Mysuru

Mysuru, November 7:- Satyameva Jayate Organisation had organised Sir C V Raman’s Jayanti to mark his 132nd birth anniversary near Marimallappa School on Ramavilas Road here on Saturday (November 7).

Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Rajya Vignana Parishat’s convener Prof Anantharamu said, “We need to adopt Nobel laureate Dr Raman’s patriotism and self-esteem. Only when students inculcate scientific thinking, they can achieve something in the field of science.”

District Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Dr Y D Rajanna said, “Dr Raman showed the world the importance of light. Despite facing poverty, he studied in a Government School and achieved many things in life. His work is better known as “Raman Effect” to the world. The whole country is proud of his achievements.”

Youth leader N M Naveen Kumar said, “People look at the Government Schools disparagingly but look at those who have made it big after studying there. We should get inspired by such people. Compared to present-day academics, it was tough decades back. There were no special coaching classes and there was no source of information either. Dr Raman is a role model for our present generation.”

Hotel Owners’ Association president Narayan Gowda, former MCC councillor M K Ashok, Krishnarajendra Sahari Bank vice president Basavaraj Basappa, industrialist Apoorva Suresh, Satyameva Jayate’s president Rakesh Kunchitiga, S N Rajesh, Vinay Kanagal, Suchendra, Kumar Gowda, Devaraj, Ravi and others were present.
