Prime News, State, (Bengaluru), February 9:-Bengaluru witnessed thousands of poor workers, most of them women, the deaf and others assembled at the Freedom Park in the city on Thursday demanding better wages and facilities that led to serious trouble in movement of traffic in the heart of the metropolis.

A section of mid-day meal cooks, who work part time for Rs 2,000 honorarium, were already agitating for the past three days at the venue.

When the Karnataka government did not respond, thousands more others joined them putting to a halt of free meals service to nearly 60 lakh children in government schools across the state on Thursday.

They arrived at the central railway from across the state to join their agitating co-workers this morning and took out a march to Vidhana Soudha where Budget session of the Legislature was in progress.

However, police stopped them midway at freedom park and the venue witnessed a sea of agitators as other groups had also joined stir for their own demands.
