Mysuru, June 27:- A woman died after a real estate broker known to her slapped her after a verbal spat a couple of days back. The accused person has been arrested by the police.
Mahalakshmi (54), a resident of Siddarthanagar in the city, wife of Umesh, an engineer at Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), is the deceased.
She was missing since May 24 and a complaint was filed at Nazarbad Police Station.
Keerthiraj alias Ravi, a real estate broker, had taken Mahalakshmi to show plots at Vidyaranyapuram in the city. He was pestering her to give commission for showing plots. In the ensuing war of words, he allegedly slapped her which led to her death. Mahalakshmi died on spot and Keerthiraj threw her body near a bush near Columbia Asia Hospital. The passersby, who happened to see the body, informed the police. The police took Keerthiraj who was moving around suspiciously and quizzed him. He confessed to the crime.
Nazarbad Police have registered a complaint. Investigations are on. (MR/KS).
