Slum dwellers’ stage protest in Mysuru; urge govt to provide houses to 98 beneficiaries

Mysuru, July 23:- Members of Vande Mataram Slum B Block Dwellers’ Association staged a protest in front of Slum Board office in the city on Monday and urged the government to provide 98 houses to the beneficiaries as instructed at the meeting of Karnataka Slum Development Board on March 7, 2018.

The protesters said that high tension power lines pass above the slums. They expressed fear that slums may catch fire in the event of any mishaps. The slum dwellers alleged that they were being forced to vacate the place and urged the government to provide houses which is their right.

President B Raju, Ayub Khan, Shabana, Zeenath Banu, Syed Rafiq, Ajmal Pasha and others were present. (KS, NGB)
