Mysuru, April 7:- Number of coronavirus affected people in Mysuru district is increasing day by day. SM Shivaprakash of SMP Foundation has come to the rescue of the needy people. He is distributing good quality rice at Rs 20 per kg and vegetables at Rs 10 per kg.

Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha inaugurated the initiative at the SMP Foundation at Vishweshwara Nagar here on Tuesday.

“Shivaprakash has taken an initiative to provide vegetables at Rs 10 and rice at Rs 20 per kg to help people who are struggling due to the ill-effects of coronavirus in Mysuru. We may get tomato for Rs 10 in the market, but we can’t find any other vegetables including ladies finger, beans for less than Rs 50 in the market. But Shivaprakash is doing a great job by spending his money for the welfare of society. District in-charge Minister V Somanna should have inaugurated this. But he is coming to Mysuru tomorrow. But people should not wait to get the essentials. For that, the initiative is inaugurated today itself,” the MP said.

BJP city president TS Srivatsa, MV Ravishankar, Shivaprakash and others were present. (MR/KS)
