Mysuru, September 12:- Social activist Raghuram Vajapayee wants the state government to ask doctor-novelist Dr S P Yoganna to inaugurate the Mysuru Dasara festivities.
Speaking to the media at Mysuru Press Club here on Saturday (September 12), Vajapayee said, “Dasara is all about our state’s literature and culture. It is being celebrated for centuries now. It began with the Yadu dynasty. Dasara symbolises our culture, art and literature. All these years, one famous personality from one of these fields used to inaugurate Nada Habba. It is prudent to ask Dr Yoganna to inaugurate the Dasara.”
The social activist continued, “There are many doctors who have been rendering yeoman service in both literary and medical professions. It will be some sort of encouragement for such people. Cardiologist Dr Yoganna fits into the bill.”
Dr Yoganna, Vajapayee said is better known for his work as a novelist, doctor and a journalist. “He has written more than 40 medical novels. As the president of Suyog Hospital, he has dedicated 60 beds exclusively for the treatment of Covid-19. He has written many articles on coronavirus and is active on social media to create awareness among common man.”
Vajapayee said, ”Dr Yoganna had done commendable work as the president of a seminar organised by the Indian Medical Association. He is also known for his works in the University of Mysore. He has come out with Kannada terminologies for 60,000 English words. It is going to be published by Rajiv Gandhi University. He has also written on spiritual health.”
