Social responsibility

It is heartening to know that recently the SP of Chikkamagaluru, Annamalai asked the cine fans to clean up the road for bursting crackers. Hats off to him for his action and teaching the youth their social responsibility. Public can enjoy but it should neither disturb others nor distract the beauty of the city. Local bodies try hard to keep the cities and towns clean. But due to lack of social responsibility or civic sense, people are spoiling it in no time. Public, especially the youth, should learn a lesson from this incident and try to celebrate functions with responsibility. It is very common to see the public places becoming ugly after any mega event or elections with paper plates, cups and pamphlets thrown all over the ground. At least now onwards, it should be made the responsibility of the organisers to clean up the mess after the event. In fact, it should be their obligation to do so to keep the places clean.
