Senior social worker from Yalandur taluk, Duggahatti Veerabhadrappa, who was felicitated at the Raichur Kannada Sahitya Sammelena, was feted at Duggahatti village, recently.
Speaking on the occasion, taluk panchayat president of Karnataka Rajya Vijnana Parishat, Dr B Basavaraju lauded the honest and modest life of Veerabhadrappa. He recalled him having finished a road work at the cost of Rs 2.9 lakh, for which Rs 4.5 lakh was allotted.
“He had worked hard to develop temples built during the regime of the Ganga kings. He also contributed as the president of taluk board. He has contributed for the development of Ranganatha Swamy temple atop the B R Hills,” he said.
Members of the Vijnana Parishat, R Gopalakrishna, Yariyuru Nagendra, Fairoz Khan, Y M Bhanuprakash, Vijay, Lingaramurthy and others were present.
