Hassan ZP member Bhavani Revanna was speaking at a felicitation programme organised by Negilayogi Mahileyara Kshemabhivruddhi Sangha
“Today women have not only made inroads in all fields but have also excelled in it. Thus, men and the society as a whole should encourage and support women in their endeavours,” said Zilla Panchayat member of Hassan Bhavani Revanna.
Inaugurating the Negilayogi Mahileyara Kshemabhivruddhi Sangha on Tuesday at Maharaja Centenary auditorium Bhavani Revanna said, “Women can contribute immensely in all areas of work with ease if they are supported by men. My father has been a great support throughout and owing to the support of my parents in-law I have been able to reach this far.”
Bhavani Revanna recalled how she was married at the age of 15 and noted how her father-in-law H D Deve Gowda, the former prime minister, and her husband Revanna played a key role in her growth.
On the occasion, Bhavani Revanna, Chairperson of State Women’s Commission Manjula Manasa, retired principal of Maharaja’s College S N Gayathri, former Kodagu Zilla Panchayat President K P Chandrakala and Deputy Mayor Vanitha Prasanna were felicitated. Later the Negilayogi Mahileyara Kshemabhivruddi Sangha distributed free computers to an orphanage in Chunchanakatte.
