Mysuru, October 28:- District in-charge Minister V Somanna visited flood-affected areas in Periyapattana on Saturday and took note of flood impact at Koppa, Muttina Mulusoge, Dodda Honnur, Ningapura Hadi and other areas.
He took a jibe at the officials after observing waste collected beside the river at Koppa village. He warned of action against officials if the roads of Dodda Honnur village are not repaired in time. After visiting Ningapura, he promised to provide government compensation to the needy.
“Taluk has several problems. People of hadis of taluk are having a tough time. Officials should work to provide basic facilities to the hadis. Hadis should be divided into 3 parts to develop. To construct new houses, Rs 3.3 lakh for SC/STs and Rs 2.7 lakh for others will be provided,” he added.
“Central government is providing compensation of Rs 6,500, Rs 13,500 and Rs 18,500 as a flood compensation for crop loss. The weavers who have lost machinery will be given a compensation of Rs 25,000. Rs 5 lakh will be provided to the families of the deceased. Families are provided Rs 10,000 each to purchase required groceries. Many roads and bridges are affected in the taluk. I have instructed the officials to get them repaired soon. Beneficiaries of Ujwala scheme are less in the taluk. Officials should take action to provide them LPG,” he added.
“Officials have to take action to provide the government facilities to the needy. Further funds for the development of the taluk will be released,” he added.
