Prime News, Karnataka, Festival, Mysuru, October 16:- With the successful conduct of Mysuru Dasara 2021, District In-charge Minister S T Somashekar has thanked the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Prathap Simha, all the MLAs, board chairmen, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Dr Bagadi Gautham, Mysuru Commissioner of Police Dr Chandragupta and other officials for the success.

He was addressing a press meet at Government House at Nazarbad in the city on Saturday (October 16).

He said, “As it was a simple Dasara, not many people could come to Mysuru. But thanks to the electronic media, all the programmes were telecast live. The role of media during Dasara was big and they deserve all the accolades.”

The minister said, “Lakhs of people witnessed Dasara virtually. Around 1,85,000 people witnessed Jamboo Savari on Facebook, 32,500 people on YouTube and 5300 people on the official website. Right from day one till last day, lakhs of people watched the programmes virtually.”

Many programmes were held at Mysuru Palace and Kalamandir as part of Dasara. Many programmes were held at Nanjangud also. Around 100 people took part in the programmes.

To encourage tourism in the state, special attention was paid to lighting arrangements in the city. Most of the tourists were all praise for the lighting and according to them, it is the best compared to previous years.

This year’s Dasara inaugurator, senior politician and former Chief Minister S M Krishna had asked the state government to give impetus to Mysuru tourism. In this background, Bommai has extended lighting arrangements till October 24.

Somashekar added, “Krishna has given some suggestions on film city, improving Mysuru Airport runway. I have already discussed with Bommai.”
