Sonbhadra firing incident: Victim’s families meet Priyanka Gandhi

Prime News, Nation, (Sonbhadra), July 20:-Three relatives of Sonbhadra firing victims managed to enter Chunar guesthouse and are now meeting Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, minutes after she told media that some family members had arrived in Mirzapur but were stopped from meeting her.

Reacting on the detention of leaders, Gandhi said, “This is what BJP is; this is what they’ve always been. I’ve been saying this even before elections; they’re undemocratic.” The Congress leader further said that her party, however, stands by the poor.

One of the family member of the victims of Sonbhadra firing incident says, “We got to know that Priyanka didi has come to meet us, but administration has arrested her and taken her to a place where no one can meet her. So, we decided to come and meet her in Chunar.”

Priyanka Gandhi tweets a video of the aggrieved family crying and writes, “Is it wrong to wipe the tears of these (aggrieved) families?”

Priyanka Gandhi said, “There is a fear of death of sensitivities in UP. The Yogi government is creating a new example of anesthesia by ignoring this tragedy. Without accounting for each tear from this tragedy, we will not go back.”

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “The administration should have protected the family of victims. When the incident took place the administration should have provided them relief. But I can’t comprehend the mentality of the administration.” She also appealed to the media to pressurize the government.

Meanwhile, Congress delegation led by Pramod Tiwari meets Governor Ram Naik over Sonbhadra firing incident that claimed lives of 10 people.
