Special children need more sports meets: Bhyrappa

Mysuru district administration, in association with Children Welfare Department,  organised sports meets for physically challenged students at Chamundivihar stadium on Tuesday.

Differently abled 1MCC Mayor B L Bhyrappa inaugurated the sports meet by hoisting the sports flag.

Bhyrappa appreciated the enthusiasm of the physically challenged children who were   actively taking part in the sports meet. “Teachers for special kids should get a special mention as for a normal child it is enough if the teacher explains a concept only once. But with specially-abled children, it will take more than once to make them understand. Full credit has to be given to teachers for standing as a pillar of support to such students,” he said.

“Such tournaments have to be organised very often to make them feel one among us,” he added.

Suresh, Deputy Director, District Sports department, Radha, Deputy Director, Children Welfare Department, Shashidar, President, Physically Handicap Association and others were present.
