Special pujas held at Chamundeshwari Temple on last Ashada Shukravara

Mysuru, August 10:- Special pujas were conducted as early as 3.30 am on Friday to Goddess Chamundeshwari at the temple atop Chamundi Hill on the occasion of last Ashada Shukaravara.

Chief priest of the temple Dr Shashishekar Dixit along with other priests conducted special puja rituals to the Goddess. Scores of devotees are expected to visit the temple today and tomorrow in view of Amavasya puja rituals to be held tomorrow, said Dr Dixit. The temple will remain open till 10 pm on Friday.

Devotees in thousands thronged the hill temple and offered prayers to seek blessings.

The sanctum sanctorum of the temple and the pathway to the main entrance was decorated with colourful flowers.

Devotees were seen distributing prasadam at the temple premises. Suttur Mutt volunteers distributed prasadam to the devotees at the foot of Chamundi Hill.

Free special KSRTC bus services were arranged for the pilgrims from Lalitha Mahal Helipad Ground to Chamundi Hill.

Mysuru Police has tightened security measures atop the hill for the smooth conduct of puja rituals. -(NGB)
