Mysuru, November 26:- “Along with curricular activities, students should involve themselves in various sports activities. This will prepare them to accept both success and failure equally in the future,” said MP Lokesh, Assistant Commissioner of Police of KR Mohalla division.
He was speaking after inaugurating annual Sports Meet of SVG Vishwaprajna PU College, Dattagalli, held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium at Nazarbad in the city on Monday.
“One must devote some time to sports along with regular studies. Students should develop a tendency to participate in at least one sport. This will give some kind of rejuvenation and good health,” he advised.
“All-round growth of students is possible when there is an encouragement for extracurricular activities such as art, music, dance, literature, sports, yoga and meditation. Every student must participate in sports competitions. Participation is important and not defeat and victory,” he added.
The programme was presided by founder trustee of the college Vishwanath Sheshachala. Treasurer of the college S Manohar, physics lecturer Dr HS Ranganath, principal Rachan Appannamaiah and director of Physical Education Department MP Harish were present. (MR/GK)
