Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji’s 77th birth anniversary observed

Mysuru, January 18:- Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji’s 77th birth anniversary was celebrated in the city by the residents of Paduvarahalli near Maharani College Hostel on Valmiki Road here on Tuesday (January 18).

BJP Chamundeshwari Constituency leader Choudappa inaugurated the event by planting a few saplings.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji had been taking part in numerous religious and social activities in schools, colleges, hospitals, animal conservation, agriculture and other fields around the world. Now there are hundreds of children studying under his Mutt. Though he was head of the Vokkaliga Mutt, he was the one to treat every child as equal irrespective of their religious background. He served the poor families with the belief of Anna dasoha (food), Akshara Dasoha (knowledge) and vidya dasoha (education).”
Mysuru Cooperative Bank director and lawyer M Ramarkrishna, MCC member M Venkatu, S B Shiva and others were present. 
Another event was held by the Krishnaraja Yuva Balaga and the devotees at Kuvempunagar here on the Adi Chunchanagiri Road.
Former Congress MLA of Krishnaraja Constituency M K Somashekar inaugurated the event by paying floral tribute to the portrait of the Swamiji. 
Speaking on the occasion, Somashekar said, “Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji worked for the welfare and development of all communities not just limiting himself to one group of people and religion.”
Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) chairman Hemanth Kumar Gowda said, “Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji is not physically present with us, but he is in the heart of every person. Not everyone can achieve what he has in his three and a half decades of service. He worked for the welfare of people. We all must follow his principles and walk the path he carved for us.” 
Mysuru District Hotel Owners’ Association president Narayana Gowda, senior social worker Dr K Raghuram Vajapayee, MUDA member Lakshmidevi, K R Blood Bank vice-president Basavaraj Basappa, Jeevadhara Blood Bank director Girish, Gunashekar, Lohith and others were present. (AM/SH/KS)
